Your task is to create data display for a school or district. 1. Locate your data. You can use your own data or access a school or district’s most recent data report from the NJ DOE website. If you use NJ data, you should go back to 2018-19 before reports You could focus on one or more of the following indicators of student performance or wellbeing: • ELA growth
Your data set should allow you to make comparisons between subgroups such as:
• race/ethnicity
• economic disadvantage
• disability status
• English learner status or
• gender
2. Organize your data.
Use a spreadsheet (Numbers, Excel, or Google Sheets) to organize your data and create displays. Format your charts and tables to make them clear and uncluttered, using appropriate titles and data labels. Choose a professional color scheme (avoid the default settings). 3. Create your document.
Your data display should fit onto one or two pages and have simple headings, text, and formatting to help the reader understand the data’s context. You will be graded using the Data Display Rubric.
