As I mentioned in a previous announcement, the support group meeting assignment (due in Week 4) will be completed online due to the pandemic.
Online meeting requirements:
You must attend a 12-step style meeting (e.g. AA, NA). See here for a list of different 12-step facilitated support groups.
The meeting you attend should be an online videoconference meeting (e.g. Zoom or Google Hangouts) or an in-person meeting.
The meeitng you attend should be an OPEN meeting. Open meetings are those that allow outsiders to observe. The meeting information should specifically state that it is an open meeting. Do not assume that it is! If in doubt, contact a group leader and ask for permission to attend the meeting as a student observer. If the meeting is listed as an open meeting, then you do not need to ask permission to attend.
Be respectful and polite. Do not speak unless asked to do so.
If asked to introduce yourself, be honest about why you are attending the meeting. Do not pretend to be in recovery if you are not!
Many of the online meetings use Zoom and provide a meeting ID. You can use your PC, Mac, Tablet, or Smartphone. It will work on pretty much any device. Simply go here and enter the meeting ID and follow the instructions: https://zoom.us/join
Here are some resources for finding an online 12-step meeting:

“A Safe Place”
“A Way of Life”
“AA – Any Lengths”
